Traverse City Michigan Senior Portraits | Jake

Congrats to the class of 2020! You did it! We met up with Jake last summer for his Traverse City, Michigan senior portraits and we had a blast! Jake’s session took place in the idyllic Downtown Traverse City area! We went to a variety of locations from the woods, to downtown Traverse City, the river, and the marina! We covered all of our bases and had a great time exploring around the city with Jake! Jake has spent the year finishing up his final year at Traverse City West Senior High and now he is done! Now he is on to bigger and better things and has a bright future ahead of him!

These Traverse City, Michigan senior portraits are something that Jake can look back on with the rest of his high school memories and cherish forever! Petoskey Family Portraits | Goldstein Family

These Petoskey family portraits of the Goldstein Family were taken at the beautiful Petoskey State Park in the dunes & by the lakeshore. The day was perfect for some beachy and relaxed family portraits!

Petoskey has so much to offer from the stunning, rocky beaches to the tall, beach grasses, and the sandy dunes. Check out the gorgeous town of Petoskey, Michigan top! Petoskey is quintessential to Northern Michigan, click HERE!

This is truly one of our favorite places in Northern Michigan and we were so glad the Goldstein Family chose this area. We photographed some great family portraits and we especially love the moments we captured between the young cousins. The three girl’s playful spirits and fun attitudes made the photos even more special and authentic! They definitely had a good time playing around in the sand as well! 

All in all, we had a great time taking these Petoskey family portraits and we can’t wait to meet more families like the Goldstein Family! We know the Goldstein Family will cherish these photos forever and reminisce on this fun day by the lake.

Leelanau Peninsula Engagement Photography | Alyssa & Cole

This is an engaged couple taking photos in a grassy field on a sunny evening in Empire, Michigan

I couldn’t wait for Alyssa & Cole’s Leelanau Peninsula Engagement Photography Session! We met on a sun-filled summer day along the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore in Empire, Michigan! 

Empire holds a special place for Alyssa & Cole. Earlier in the year at the Empire Bluffs Cole got down on one knee and asked Alyssa to spend the rest of her life with him, she happily accepted! 

During the engagement session, the sun glistened on North Bar and created a stunning vibrant blue on Lake Michigan. I was excited to utilize all of the amazing locations in this area. In a short walk, we were able to take images in the woods, sand dunes, and along the lakeshore. Alyssa and Cole are naturals in front of the camera, it was easy to see how in love they are! 

Alyssa and Cole are tying the knot this September and I couldn’t be more excited to continue photographing such special moments in their lives!

Below are some things to think about when prepping for your session! 

  1. Location – When it comes to picking the location, I love shooting in places that mean something to you! If you’re short on ideas I certainly can make suggestions!
  2. Time – The best time to shoot any portraits is normally 2 hours after sunrise or 2 hours before sunset.
  3. Outfits – Wear clothes that make you feel like you, complement each other, but don’t match. Choose pastels, cool colors, and neutral tones. Opt for a classy rather than trendy look!
  4. Hair & Makeup – Some brides have their hair & makeup trial done before their engagement session so they can see what it will look like in pictures before the wedding day!
  5. Ring Cleaner – Don’t forget about the bling! Typically some close-up photos will be taken so make sure it’s sparkling.
