Portraits of a bride and groom on their wedding day in Charlevoix, Michigan

Laura & Kevin’s Charlevoix Wedding at Shanahan’s Barn was a gorgeous Northern Michigan day!

Both Laura & Kevin are from different parts of Michigan, Laura from Kalamazoo and Kevin from Detroit. They wanted to make sure the charm of those places as well as Northern Michigan was represented at their wedding. Northern Michigan sure did listen!

The day started off with the girls getting ready at the Cottages at The Inn at Bay Harbor. The morning was full of laughter and ease as everyone got ready for the first look and portraits. Laura had a beautiful beaded BHLDN wedding dress paired with Badgley Mischka shoes. The guys got ready at a home on Walloon Lake. They finished their morning with a quick boat ride on Walloon Lake before heading over to Bay Harbor!

Bay Harbor offered an epic backdrop of the Little Traverse Bay for Laura and Kevin’s first look! They had a great time utilizing the scenery for many portraits before taking off to Shanahan’s Barn in Charlevoix, Michigan for the ceremony.

The ceremony space at Shanahan’s Barn is located in a beautiful field filled with tall grasses and wildflowers. As the guests found their seats the ceremony began. Laura and Kevin stood under a birch arch with flower accents to say their vows. After the joyful-filled ceremony was finished everyone took a short walk to the patio of Shanahan’s Barn.

Laura and Kevin had some really cute, rustic details including the gin fizz specialty drinks, customized napkins, and monogram behind the sweetheart table. Once all the guests found their seats the reception started with some heartfelt speeches and toasts followed by a delicious dinner.

Right before sunset Laura and Kevin shared their first dance as husband and wife while sunbeams peeked through the cracks in the barn. There was just enough time to take a walk in the grassy field before the sun disappeared under the horizon.
