Haley & Faris’ Castle Farms Wedding Photography displayed beautiful pops of pastel colors throughout the venue and wedding attire!
Haley had a clear vision, she incorporated lavender, mint, navy, and deep plum colors in all the details. The bridesmaids wore beautiful Azazie dresses in a mixture of styles and pastel colors. All of their floral arrangements from Thyme Hill Designs were filled with purple and white roses, white hydrangeas, ferns, purple baby’s breath, and seeded eucalyptus. To create a cohesive look the same colors and flowers were carried into the groomsmen boutonnières and centerpieces at the reception.
Haley & Faris decided to see each other for the first time at the wedding ceremony. Anticipation built up as guests arrived and took their seats. The Knight’s Courtyard at Castle Farms has an intimate setting surrounded by stone walls. With everyone seated Haley walked down the aisle looking at her soon to be husband with the sweetest smile. Her wedding gown and long veil flowed beautifully and was complemented by her sparkly silver shoes, jewelry, and tiara! Faris smiled back and looked handsome in his navy suit, mint bowtie, and lavender pocket square. Haley & Faris stood under the stone-arch and exchanged their vows in front of their closest friends and family! After they had their first kiss as husband and wife we took some beautiful portraits around the grounds at Castle Farms.
I love that Castle Farms has so many amazing photo opportunities around the grounds! Some of my favorite locations are below!
- Kings Grand Courtyard – This area is spectacular with the fountain and Castle Farms right in the background!
- Reflection Pond – On the backside of the castle there is a beautiful pond that has some unique photo angles to get the castle and your reflection all in one image!
- Butterfly Garden – Planning a first look? This adorable area is private with shrubs surrounding it for a special moment!
- Woods by Birch Lake – Want some woodsy photos? Just a short walk (or golf cart ride) away you can be in a beautiful birch lined roadway.
In October, as many of you know, the sun begins setting so early in Northern Michigan! With just enough time left, we were able to take some beautiful golden hour portraits in the King’s Grand Courtyard. It’s hard to think that this amazing spot once used to be a pasture and barnyard. Read more about the history here!
It was easy to see that everyone was excited about the reception! While we were taking portraits guests were enjoying cocktail hour in the Knight’s Courtyard. A cool feature about this specific building is that there is a large sliding door that opens between the reception and cocktail area, this allows guests to mingle inside or outside. One of my favorite details that Haley & Faris had for their guests was the signature drinks. They named them Berry Ever After & Mint To Be, how cute is that?!
At the reception, guests were greeted with wedding favors that the couple put together! They were succulents in a mixture of small vases and the sign read “Take One Home And Let Love Grow”. Each table at the reception featured different shapes and sized vases to create a boho rustic theme.
Before everyone enjoyed their dinner from Catering By Kelly’s Haley & Faris shared their first dance following some thoughtful toasts. The rest of the evening was spent celebrating under the Northern Michigan skies and dancing the night away!
I was so happy to take part in Haley & Faris’ fairytale wedding in Northern Michigan!
